A Place to Heal & Connect

Do you feel broken? Does your relationship with your partner seem to be falling apart? You've come to a healing place.  My passion is helping couples clarify the kind of life they want to build together and to explore with them the kind of partners they aspire to be to build the life and relationship they truly want. I can help you build the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve these tasks.

I also enjoy helping individuals who want to heal from depression, anxiety, anger issues, low self-esteem, and the effects of ineffective communication. My specialties include: Anger Management, Couples Therapy, Alleviating Depression/Anxiety, and Christian Counseling.

I utilize evidence-based approaches to therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, to provide favorable treatment outcomes. I help people establish emotional and spiritual wholeness. I offer convenient, after-work hours to meet your scheduling needs, so call me. Use your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to pay for services! I also take insurances: Aetna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Meritain and ComPsych.

I can help you rediscover the light in your life as I partner with you.

While I employ an integrative approach to therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is my primary method of helping people. CBT is based on the assumption that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things like people, situations, and events.

CBT aims to help the client to uncover and alter distortions of thought or perception in order to change their behavior and emotional state. CBT is demonstrated to be effective with depression, generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, and other conditions.

Research studies indicate that CBT is effective.

CBT is a good choice for people with the following abilities and interests:
  • the capacity to examine one's own mental and emotional processes
  • preference for a short-term, directive treatment
  • willingness to make ongoing efforts at self-analysis and at practicing coping
     skills during and beyond treatment

Upon request, I can give CBT a Christian emphasis. Just ask.
